The Aletheia is a small independent journal. We have no advertising business, no data partners, and nothing to gain from knowing more about you than we need to send you an issue. This notice describes the whole of it.
What we collect
Your email address, if you subscribe. The newsletter form on this site sends a single field — the address you type — to our server, which stores it so we can tell you when a new issue is published. We do not ask for your name, your location, or anything else, and there is no other form on the public site that collects personal information.
Ordinary server logs. Like any website, ours is served by a host that records routine request information, such as IP address and browser type, in order to serve pages and defend against abuse. We do not build profiles from these logs and do not connect them to subscriber records.
Nothing else.The site runs no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party social or measurement scripts. It sets no cookies for readers. A session cookie exists only for the journal's own editors when they sign in to publish, and never for visitors.
What we do with it
Subscriber addresses are used for one purpose: sending an email when a new issue goes out. We do not send anything else to that list, and we do not sell, rent, share, or trade it. When an issue mailing goes out, recipients are blind-copied, so no subscriber ever sees another subscriber's address.
Where it is held
Subscriber addresses are stored in our MongoDB database. Newsletter delivery is handled by Resend, which processes addresses on our behalf in order to send the mail. Images published with our articles are hosted by Cloudinary. These providers act as processors for us and are not permitted to use your address for their own purposes. Because our providers and our readers are international, data may be stored or processed outside your own country.
How long we keep it
We keep a subscriber address until you ask us to remove it. There is no other retention schedule, because there is nothing else retained.
Your choices
Write to akshat.1790@gmail.com or pawandudi5000@gmail.com from the address concerned and we will confirm what we hold, correct it, or delete it. Deletion is permanent and we act on these requests by hand, usually within a few days. Depending on where you live, you may also have statutory rights of access, correction, erasure, portability, or objection; we will honour those requests through the same address.
Children
The journal is written for a general adult readership. We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we will delete any address we learn belongs to one.
Changes
If this notice changes, the revision date at the top of the page changes with it. We will not begin using subscriber addresses for a materially different purpose without saying so first.
